Mark Oldham, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), Deputy Editor of the Journal of the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, President-Elect of the American Delirium Society, and co-creator of a comprehensive set of free catatonia assessment resources using the Bush-Francis Catatonia Rating Scale [https://bfcrs.urmc.edu]. He completed fellowship training in C-L psychiatry at Yale. Whereas Dr. Oldham's scholarly focus is delirium, his clinical work has centered on team-based models of proactive C-L psychiatry. He served as an attending and medical director of Yale's Behavioral Intervention Team and currently directs a similar proactive C-L service at Strong Memorial Hospital called PRIME Medicine [Proactive Integration of Mental Health Care in Medicine]. He is currently supported by a K23 career development award from the National Institute on Aging to develop expertise on the relationship between sleep-wake disturbance and postoperative cognition—both delirium and Alzheimer disease and related dementias.
